A: Please ensure that your child brings the following items to the nursery:
– A change of clothes: Accidents and spills can happen during the day, so it’s helpful to have a spare set of clothes labelled with your child’s name.
– Nappies, wipes, and nappy cream: (If your child is not yet toilet trained)
– Comfort items: If your child has a special comfort item, such as a blanket or a dummy, feel free to bring it along to help them feel secure and settled.
– Bottles, formula, and/or expressed breast milk: If your child requires bottles, formula, or expressed breast milk, please provide enough for the day labelled with their name.
– Weather-appropriate clothing & suncream: Depending on the season, please dress your child in weather-appropriate attire, including a hat, coat, gloves, and boots/wellies. Please also provide suncream if needed.
We kindly request that all items are clearly labelled with your child’s name to ensure proper identification. Additionally, please inform our staff of any specific dietary requirements, allergies, or medical conditions your child may have for their safety and well-being.
A: We ensure the safety and well-being of every child. Our nursery is equipped with secure entry systems, CCTV, and health and safety protocols. Our staff members are trained in first aid and undergo regular safeguarding training.
A: We prioritise the safety of children with allergies and dietary requirements through communication, personalised care plans, staff training, allergen avoidance, open communication with parents and staff, and regular review and updates.
A: We understand the importance of routines in supporting children’s development at different ages. Each room in our nursery follows a carefully designed routine that is tailored to meet the specific needs of the children in that age group.
Koala Bears (6 months – 2 years):
In our Koala Bears room, we establish a consistent routine that reflects each child’s individual home routine. This continuity helps infants feel secure and comfortable as they transition between home and nursery.
Panda Bears (2 years – 3 years):
In the Panda Bears room, we implement a structured routine that balances active play, quiet time, and learning experiences. Consistency in daily routines helps toddlers develop a sense of control, understand expectations, and build self-regulation skills. A consistent routine also aids in their language development, social interactions, and promotes their growing independence.
Polar Bears Preschoolers (3 years – 5 years):
At Polar Bear Pre-School, we focus on preparing children for school readiness. A structured routine helps preschoolers develop a sense of predictability, enabling them to understand and follow daily schedules. Routines support their cognitive development, foster independence, encourage social skills, and provide a framework for engaging in learning activities.
